what does other athletes getting away with stuff have anything to do with this case??

I specifically mentioned Vick in the first sentence, just stating a point about athletes/stars..Vick is one isnt he? And the argument for Vick on here has mainly compared him to other athletes who got away with DUI's and such.

Well your statement that says that Vick only got this harsh punishment because of his star status is only an opinion/what you thought and not a fact too isnt it? I mean it cant be proven. I just said that because of his name celebrity status he "might have" thought he could get away with something like this. So IF he did, then him being made an example would be justified wouldnt it? Dont see where its a weak argument. Your argument was that if his name wasnt Michael Vick, he wouldnt have gotten this stiff punishment...well if he thought he could get away with this because of the same reason, then I dont see why making an example of him wouldnt be right.

I also thing it's stupid that if somebody is starving or not treating an animal these people can go in and take it and send the person to jail but if i little child is being mistreated and not being taken care of well by their parents it's 10x harder to get something done about that. What kind of country is this when dogs are protected better than kids? It's flat out bullshit if you ask me

IMHO it ALL comes down to money.......There is Money in dog and cock fighting money that the Gov is NOT getting its cut of which is in my opinion why they go after it a bit tougher than other things.

would you agree that there were others who were involved in this case who had an equal amount of responsibility in the crimes committed as Michael Vick? (actually i'd bet you haven't followed the case at all and don't know a single thing about it)

would you agree that those who had equal share got deals in exchange for testifying against Vick?

those are F-A-C-T-S of the case...go and check them if you'd like

now why would someone give a deal to people who had equal or greater responsibility in the crimes committed unless you REALLY wanted to go after one person...that's what happened here, stop trying to argue a BS position when you have no clue about this case

Its called a plea bargain, wasnt Vick offered one? He promoted, funded and facilitated the whole deal, so no I do not agree all were equally responsible. Wasnt it his house in VA were they found these dog pits and he still denied knowing anything about it? Wasnt he the one throwing tens of thousands of dollars on his dogs with different people? Vick got what, 2 years? LeShon Johnson pleaded guilty to three charges related to dogfighting 05 and is serving a five-year deferred sentence. Vick got off easy, he thought he could buy his way out of this and he didnt. So I dont really care if he got more than the others, he deserved it.

read up on the case, then come back when you have a substantial argument...if ever

I never said it was a fact, just said like I did in other comments that because he was a star - very wealthy - he could get away with this. And looks like you didnt dispute anything I said, just picked a few words out and called me dumb.
